Nana nina's legacy
Bella Familia was founded by Paulie Mascia & his familia of grandchildren who joined together to come up with the name for the business. Paulie is a native of Brooklyn, NY and moved to Birmingham, AL in 2004. The Bella Familia cheesecake recipe is over 85 years old, passed down to Paulie by his mother, aka Nana Nina. He often smiles and refers to Bella Familia as a "labor of love" and will happily share stories of his Italian family upbringing...and what would happen if one made too much noise while Nana Nina's cheesecake was in the oven! Paulie hopes to carry on Nana Nina's legacy with every Bella Familia cheesecake. Fun fact: her picture is on the wall in her kitchen so she can oversee the baking process and make sure each cheesecake is to her standards!
